A person under the age of 21 caught purchasing, attempting to purchase or possessing alcohol will be charged with a class 1 misdemeanor. Sentencing is left to the judge's discretion. The Division of Motor Vehicles revokes that person's driver's license.
- A 19 or 20-year-old caught possessing beer or wine can be charged with a Class 3 misdemeanor and if found guilty could be fined up to $200 and lose his or her driver's license.
- For the first offense, a person convicted of selling or providing alcohol to someone under the age of 21 must pay a $250 fine plus $100 in court costs and do 25 hours of community service.
- A person convicted for aiding and abetting the sale or provision of alcohol to a minor must pay a $500 fine plus court costs and do 25 hours of community service work.
- In addition to fines and court costs, those convicted of breaking the state alcohol laws may have to pay attorney's fees and an increased insurance premium of 400% or more.
- It is illegal for anyone to loan his or her ID to someone else to
obtain alcohol. Upon conviction, DMV will revoke the loaner's driver's
license.
To enter Broadstreet if you are underage:
1. All persons under the age of 21 will be required to purchase and wear an underage t-shirt while in the club. Anyone who removes the T-shirt will be asked to leave immediately, have their T-shirt revoked, and be required to purchase a new one upon returning to the club. Repeat offenders will be banned until they are 21. Repeat offenders will be limited to two offenses. T-Shirt cost is $20.00. Being able to shed the T-shirt at the age of 21 is a rite of passage. For the fashion conscious: The men's T-shirts are white with black logo and lettering, sizes Large thru 2x. The women's T-shirts are black baby doll tees with white logo and lettering, sizes Medium thru X-large.
2. ANYONE CAUGHT DRINKING UNDER AGE WILL BE ESCORTED TO THE FRONT DOOR AND WILL BE TURNED OVER TO THE FAYETTEVILLE PD WHO WILL IN TURN CALL LOCAL ALE AGENTS TO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A NICE DAY IN COURT.
3. Please realize that we hope under age persons come to Broadstreet with the intent to have a fun time WITHOUT DRINKING. It is a privilege we extend to under age persons to be allowed in the club. Be aware that you WILL NOT get away with underage drinking. We have zoom cameras in the club that allow us to see the "hideout" areas where you think no one is watching.
4. With that said, to enter Broadstreet underage, you MUST be in the club by no later than 11pm. You will be required to leave your ID with the doorman upon entering. If you do not pick up your ID upon leaving for the evening (wearing your T-shirt of course) we are not responsible for lost ID's. We may also, on busy nights, choose to limit the number of underage persons in the club.
